Sundays at camp are simply the best — the perfect blend of rest and excitement. With an interruption to our normal routine schedule, Sundays are designed to help both campers and staff recharge after a full week of adventure, off-camp trips, and high-energy evening programs. With a slower pace and fewer structured activities, Sundays make space for stronger friendships, spontaneous fun, and those little moments of magic that turn into lasting memories.
The morning starts off easy, with a much-loved late wake-up, a delicious breakfast, Chapel at Reflect and camp clean-up before some casual games and free play with friends.
Today’s camp clean-up had a fun twist! After an action-packed holiday weekend, camp was looking a little extra lived-in, with lost and found items scattered everywhere and more trash than usual needing attention. So we decided to turn it into a friendly competition to get everyone involved!
Mac and I challenged the campers: whichever side — Girls Camp or Boys Camp — collected the most trash and lost-and-found items would earn a free pass from cabin inspection on Tuesday. And to really raise the stakes, we added an extra incentive: the top-collecting cabin from each side would win a coveted trip to Gus’s!
The campers really got into it and hustled to clean up every corner of Old Forge. In the end, Cabin 5 took the crown for Girls Camp, and Cabin 26 won for Boys Camp. Girls Camp also won the overall challenge — earning their well-deserved bragging rights!
What I loved most was seeing how excited the campers were about turning a chore into a team effort and playful competition. It wasn’t just about cleaning up — it was about coming together as a community to get a job done and of course, laughing along the way!

CHAPEL
This morning we had our chapel service in the glorious sunshine. Today we read The Rainbow Fish and talked about generosity and sharing with others. We learned that generosity isn’t really about sacrificing for someone else. The true magic of being generous with others lies in how much more it gives back to you. When we give, whether it’s our time, resources, or love, we open ourselves up to a world of profound rewards that far outweigh the initial act of giving.
MEALS
Breakfast this morning was Mrs. Kaye’s homemade blueberry muffins, sausage links, scrambled eggs and our fresh fruit, yogurt and granola bar. Lunch was grilled chicken club sandwiches, sweet potato fries and a salad and sandwich bar. For dinner we had a crowd pleaser…spaghetti and meatsauce, roasted broccoli, garlic bread with our sandwich and salad bar.
SUNDAY FUNDAY
After a longer rest hour today, we woke up rested and ready for our Session B Block Party! Block Party offered a wide variety of things to enjoy this afternoon, and there was creativity, competition and relaxation around every corner for our campers to decide how they wanted to spend this perfect day. Lower camp started at the pool first, enjoying time to play with friends and cool off. Middle and upper camp went down to the field for activities, and were so excited when they saw the Dolly’s trolley waiting for them with the BEST ice cream on earth! After getting out of the pool, lower camp came down for Dolly’s while middle and upper could cool off at the pool, or enjoy other activities set up around camp. Campers had the freedom to choose how to spend their Sunday - at the reading nook, inflatable waterslide, tie-dying socks, getting fairy hair, riverball, ultimate frisbee, football, tailgate games or the obstacle course. It was an absolutely fantastic afternoon! This was the first Block Party we’ve had on Sunday Funday, and I am pretty sure we just created a new tradtion for Session B!
EVENING PROGRAM
Our evening program tonight was campfire - a perfect ending to our perfect day. Bruce, our beloved and talented camp musician, had us all on our feet for almost every single song, fast or slow campers were dancing, swaying and laughing with their friends. We sang along to the music and soaked up every minute of this wonderful tradition and moment at camp. After campfire, campers went crazy when we announced cookies and milk in the dining hall! I love ending our night with this wonderful tradition of comfort and community.
