“I personally love the sterilite trunks because you can hose them down when they get home. My boys love collecting stickers and putting them all over the trunk.”

Helping your child stay organized while at camp can be tough! A great way to help them do this is by packing colapsable storage cubes for them to put underwear, socks and other items in on their shelf. Make sure you get cubes that are less than 10 inches tall so they will fit on their shelf!

From Melissa, Camp Mom & Our Director

“My favorite packing tip is to pack your kids in clear plastic boxes from the dollar store or Wal-Mart. I use a label maker or a sharpie and write SOCKS & UNDERWEAR, SHORTS, T-SHIRTS, BATHING SUITS, etc. on the boxes so that when laundry comes back it is easier for them to put away. When they get to camp, they take out the boxes and put them on their shelves. And again, I throw in the dishwasher when they get home and pack it back in the trunk for the next year. I prefer the flip-top boxes for my boys because it seems like the tops don’t come back when I sent ones with separate lids.” - Melissa | Mom & Director

Label! Label! Label!

Label all of your camper’s things they bring to camp! And when you think you have labeled everything, send extra labels with them.

Use your child’s first and last name OR their first initial and last name.

Channel your inner Marie Kondo when packing! Packing needs to be efficent but also support your camper by being as funcional as possible.

  • Roll their clothes! You can put together an outfit to make it easy for your child to pick what they will wear each morning
  • For younger campers, pack an entire outfit (socks, underwear, etc.) in ziplock bags
  • If you don’t want to outfits “pre-made” you can fold their clothes in the storage cubes mentioned above for easy transfer from their trunk or duffle to their shelf.

Bedding Bundles

Bedding can be a tough item to fit into your camper’s truck or duffle. We’ve partnered with Camp, College & More to help families get their camper the bedding they need and have it shipped directly to camp! (optional) The minky fleece blankets are super soft & do not lose their fluff with washing. Check out Camp Highlander’s bedding bundles, blankets and more! They must be ordered ATLEAST 3 Weeks prior to the start of your camper’s session!

The minky fleece blankets are incredibly soft and do not lose their soft feel after being washed hundreds of times! Camp, College and More was created by a lifelong summer camper and staff member who wanted to make camp bedding that would last, fit the bunks and remind campers of their home away from home.
