Didi Simon-Couture
Cooking Activity Counselor
  • Years at Camp: 6

  • Hometown: Portland, Oregon

  • School/Major: Family and Human Services at University of Oregon

  • Involvement: I volunteer at the Moss Street Children’s center, which is a resource for students on campus who are in need of accessible and quality childcare. I also volunteer at the urban farm on campus and get to attend to crops and harvest food for students.

  • What is the one item you must bring to camp with you?: My pink adidas sports shoes

  • What is your spirit animal and why?: My spirit animal would be a deer because they are very curious as well as spend time observing and enjoying their environments.

  • If you could have a never-ending supply of one snack, what would it be? I would choose chocolate chip cookies

  • If you could live in any movie or book universe, which one would it be?: Harry Potter

  • Favorite Tradition at Camp Highlander: Final Campfire

  • What are you most looking forward to this summer? Why?: Seeing new campers experience the community and wonder of camp highlander for the first time. I remember when I first came to camp and how much there was to be excited about and how much there was to explore. And I can’t wait for someone to come in to my activity and get to potentially develop a new skill or passion that they could take home.
