This morning at breakfast announcements I reminded everyone that we have FIVE DAYS left of camp. No!! and Boo!! were the overwhelming responses from campers and staff. I wasn’t trying to be the bearer of bad news…this was a reminder that we still have five days left of camp, so don’t waste one single minute!

Well, they took my advice and jumped back into the camp schedule today with both feet! Campers were soaking up the sun and even dancing in the rain as they traveled around camp to their favorite activities. Cabins were so happy to be back together all day, embracing camp and their last few days togehter. It was a really great day!

Favorite Details of the Day

  • Reflect: This morning at Reflect Beth talked about being an investor. No she wasn’t talking about stocks and bonds, she was talking about being a wise investor with your time. What you give your time to, who you spend your time, this is where you are making an investment. She challenged us to think about how we spend our free time at camp or at home and to choose to invest in making our lives and the lives of others better.
  • Meals: For breakfast today we had french toast sticks, sausage links, scrambled eggs, and fresh fruit. Pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches with a side of coleslaw and sweet potato fries were served for lunch. For dinner we had chicken and broccoli teriyaki, fried rice, egg rolls and green salad with ginger dressing.
  • Weather: We woke up to a beautiful sunny day at camp. We knew that rain was in the forecast, but when it showed up late afternoon we didn’t let it slow us down. We had a great day!
  • EP: Tonight’s evening program was a throwback to the 80’s! From prom dresses to leg warmers, campers and staff came dressed to impress. The gym was transformed into an 80’s extravaganza from dancing to stations around the gym with games, prizes and candy. We even had an 80’s hair station complete with a crimping wand, Aquanet and combs for teasing. Campers played Operation, candy scramble, 80’s video games and competed in Rubik’s cube challenges. It was awesome, and I felt like I traveled back in time to my childhood. The dance floor was hot with Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, ABBA and more. Everyone had so much fun!
