At Camp Highlander we believe that it’s not what you do that makes life fun, but who you are doing life with. After six days with our cabin groups, our campers will testify that their cabinmates are the BEST part of their camp experience. There is no denying that the zipline is exhilarating and the blob is awesome, but without your friends these are just experiences. Your friends are the ones that make those experiences a memory. We have made so many wonderful memories this session and more importantly some life-long friends.
Favorite Details of the Day
- Reflect at the Rock: This morning Gaynell reminded us that there is no one like you anywhere. There is only one you, and you are here to make the impact or difference that only you can make. So be you…everyone else is taken!
- Meals: Breakfast was eggs, sausage, hashbrowns and fruit bar. Lunch was tacos and salad bar. Dinner was grilled chicken breasts, rosemary potatoes, haricot verts, homemade rolls and salad bar.
- EP: Mr. Highlander! This is one of the favorite Highlander traditions. Mr. Highlander is a male beauty pageant and the campers love it! The male staff dress in evening wear, sports wear and even prepare talents. They recruit cabins to be their campaign managers and hope to take home the crown. Our Mr. Highlander for 2019 was Bug Manning, the photography intern.
- Weather: We were super lucky with great weather today. We had sunshine all day, and the rain held off so we were able to enjoy our fireworks show tonight!
