Thanksgiving is a time to offer kindness and compassion toward others, as well as to reflect on those things in which we are grateful. As I look around, I see so many wonderful reasons to be thankful. As the owner of Camp Highlander, one of the most consistent blessings in my life is being given the opportunity to meet and know so many people from all over the country. You all bring so much to my life, and the outpouring of kindness that I continuously receive truly humbles me.

As you know, Camp Highlander is a special place. Yes, there are many different aspects to Highlander that make it special, such as the beautiful scenery or the adventure. But, most of all, what makes Camp Highlander special is you. You bring so much to the Highlander family – whether you’re a camper, alumni, parent, staff member or simply a friend of ours – we wouldn’t be who we are without everything you bring to the Camp Highlander experience. And for that, we are forever grateful.

Whether you’re enjoying the holiday weekend with loved ones or volunteering to serve those in need, try to keep the momentum of giving thanks going beyond the season. The foundation of the Camp Highlander creed lies in four main values: Courage, Honesty, Integrity and Faith. These are the values that direct every aspect of daily life at camp, and we make every effort to maintain these values throughout the year. In that spirit, try to do something each week that helps you be a better you.

From everyone at Camp Highlander, we extend our best wishes for a happy and healthy Thanksgiving and holiday season. We’re very blessed and grateful to have you as part of our Highlander family.

From the mountain,

Karl
