Thanksgiving is not just another day of the year, it is the way we live the Highlander Creed each day at Camp Highlander. We each have a choice to be thankful and appreciative every day or to complain and be ungrateful. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, I was thinking about what a CHIF-ey holiday we have in Thanksgiving. It is a time for family, a time for grateful hearts, a time for sharing and a time for love. I hope you took the opportunity this Thanksgiving to show CHIF to others and be thankful for the blessings in your life.

Today and every day at Camp Highlander we are thankful. We feel so blessed here at Camp Highlander for each and every camper and staff member. We are thankful to be changing lives at this amazing summer camp for boys and girls. We are grateful for the growth that we see in your lives, in the size of our camp family and on our mountain.

Speaking of growth…It has been an eventful day here on the mountain. Some of you may be wondering what we have up our sleeve this year for our list of Camp Highlander improvements. Well, you are going to love this one. We are updating the Camp Highlander pool, also lovingly known as the CMAC. This renovation is going to be beautiful, and we can’t wait to fill you in on all the progress. Today marks DAY 1 of the project, and we want you to check out our facebook page for videos and the blog each week to see how things are going. This is exciting stuff. We will be tearing stuff up and making a big mess before we can see the beautiful finished product.

So the CMAC, as you know it, is about to get a face lift. That brings up a very good question…should we still call it the CMAC? Can anyone tell me how the CMAC got its name? Maybe we should give it a new name. Any ideas?

Stay tuned…this is news you don’t want to miss! We are so thankful for this exciting renovation, and we know this summer you will be too!
