Counselor In Training
The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program at Camp Highlander is a training program designed to transition campers into staff. The program consists of a four week training period, where the CITs will live together in a cabin and participate in camp activities as a group. During this time, they will be shadowing cabins and other counselors to learn and stimulate educational opportunities and prepare them for counselor responsibilities. The training period is designed to create leaders, role models and caring staff members that will be great additions to the Highlander team.
The fee for the training program is $1000, to include room and board, special trips and events during their stay at camp. Upon completion of this training period, qualifying CITs will be promoted to Assistant Counselors for the final session of camp that summer. During this session, they will live in the cabin and assume all counselor responsibilities. This is an unpaid position.
The application deadline for this position is December 15th.
