Counselor In Training
The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program at Camp Highlander is a training program designed to transition campers into staff. The program consists of a six week training period, where the CITs will live together in a cabin and participate in camp activities as a group. During this time, they will be shadowing cabins and other counselors to learn and stimulate educational opportunities and prepare them for counselor responsibilities. The training period is designed to create leaders, role models and caring staff members that will be great additions to the Highlander staff.
The fee for the CIT program is $2000, to include room and board, special trips and events during their stay at camp. Upon completion of this program, CITs will be eligible for selection the next summer as Junior Counselors.
To apply for the CIT program, applicants must be at least 16 years old and completed their sophomore year of high school. Spaces are limited and applications must be submitted by December 15.
