Dear Parents,

Our history in camping and passion for making a difference in childrens’ lives led us to Camp Highalnder, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share our mountain home with you.

Since 1964, Camp Highlander has been one of North Carolina’s elite camps providing a summer experience of growth, positive role models and wonderful memories. Our excellent facilities, amazing staff and exceptional programming makes Highlander the perfect environment for your child this summer.

We believe that the summer camp experience is the greatest gift you can give your child. At Camp Highlander, you can give them the gift of independence, self-confidence, personal accomplishment and lifelong friendships, a gift that they will cherish for the rest of their lives. Each summer they will experience new challenges, meet new people and learn something new about themselves, while having more fun than they ever dreamed possible. This is the gift of summer camp.

So what are you waiting for! Come join the fun, the magic of Camp Highlander, come join our family.

Sincerely,
Karl and Shelley Alexander

Gaynell Tinsley, Jr.
Director of Camp Highlander

Dear Parents,

Camp Highlander provides a summer program for boys and girls ages 5-16. Our campers have a unique opportunity to experience a healthy and wholesome camp adventure in a safe and exciting environment located in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

At Highlander, we understand the challenging responsibilities of raising children. Therefore, we offer you a traditional, fun-filled atmosphere where you children will be encouraged to build character and strong values that will remain with them always.

And since we also know that it is important for children to attend a camp which offers programs and values that complement those of the individual and family, we encourage you to investigate Highlander’s programs to ensure that they meet your needs.

I am proud to introduce you to the world of Camp Highlander.
